What is the most cost effective people carrier?

Hi there, just wondering what the best yet most cost effective people carrier is?

We are going to be a family of 6 within the next 18 months and we are looking ahead.

Any recommendations welcome, thanks|||Buy 2 small 1.4 litre diesels like the Fiesta WHY -

- combined when using both space for 10 people or 6 and a better luggage space than a people carrier

- use both and get 27 to the gallon

- use one when up to 5 travel and get 55 to the gallon

- not so many kids all in one car, more peacefull

- not everyone has to go to the same place, 2 cars so 2 destinations possible

- easier to park

- less road tax in many cases

There you go - another problem solved.|||depends on how often all 6 of you will need to be in the car at the same time.

if it will be your main car and you'll all be in it at the same time then get a people carrier, none of them are particularly fuel efficient or cheap to buy or insure.

however if you mostly wont be all together in the car at the same time and 2 cars is an option

get an old volvo estate with the 7 seat option, (740, 850, 940, v70 etc)

you can pick them up for a few hundred quid they've usually been well looked after, fairly cheap and easy to fix if its ever needed and are utterly practical.

the engines go on forever|||6...well...that means 2 rows behind the driver. It depends on your budget but you might need a minivan (and I shudder to ever recommend such a vehicle). There's just no subaru that fits your requirements. Don't buy some crazy suv either...get something at the most v6...otherwise it's going to be a gas hog. I can't really recommend a mini-van but the Honda Odyssey would probably be the best for your family.|||You don't say what your budget is, so I've put in new/2nd hand

New/2nd hand, more expensive:

Hyundai i800 8-seater

VW Caravelle 7-seater

2nd hand wider range of prices, 7 Seaters %26amp; good luggage space also:

Seat Alhambara (same as Ford Galaxy/VW Sharan but better value)

Renault Grand Espace

VW Touran

Slightly smaller but still 7 seater %26amp; plenty about :

Vauxhall Zafira

Best to go for a Turbo Diesel, due to the weight you'll be carrying around it will give the best power/economy|||Any nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. There's simply no more efficient mode of transporting people (or aircraft, for that matter) anywhere on earth.|||Vauxhall Zafira 1.9 cdti is a 7 seater and the best P.C around and very economical to run.A good question deserves a no messing about answer|||Six shopping carts tied together! Low fuel (non) Enviroment friendly! Plus, you get your pound back when you park it up!|||The Renault space.
