How can I transfer three kittens without a carrier for 2 miles on foot?

I need some creative ways to transfer my news kittens to my house on foot, I do not have a carrier or car, please help!|||HI--

My solution is; If you're in an area that has stores that put out sturdy cardboard boxes for the public to use when buying stuff, or for moving-- grab a decent sized (no smaller than a foot %26amp; half square), and some strong tape-- re-tape all the corners, and bottom-- then slit some 1/2inch holes near the top, put a towel in the bottom of the box--. If you can rig it-- use the strong tape (the kind folks use to move with--the 2inch wide kind)-- and tape it together, thus making a handle of sorts-- but use the ends to tape to the box-- this way you can grab hold of the "handle" rather than extending your hands and holding the box for 2 miles.

Whatever you decide to use, please keep in mind that the kittens will ...1) only be in there for 1/2 an hour--so tons of room is not needed-- as long as they can comfortable sit down without being on top of one another, it's all good. Please 2)-- ensure that when they're in the box, they can't climb out, no way, no how-- without you opening the container (box) up. (so tape it up securely)... (Some of the other suggestions submitted might require some more ingenuity to hold a rack on top of a laundry basket-- I'd use rope to secure it, but then you'd be dealing with kittens' reaching out grabbing you--- think--%26gt; nails scratching LOL)... 3) as long as there are enough holes to ensure there's a free flow of Oxygen for all three-- don't overdo the openings-- they'll otherwise be reaching out to paw at you or trying to climb out.

Here's hoping you find a safe, secure and easy way to transport them-- either way, the wagon idea is good, as long as it's flat ground and no tipping possible-- no need to traumatize the kittens more than needed!! Let us know how you faired-- and bless you for ensuring a forever home for the kittens! :)|||I can think of two ways right off hand. You can use a small laundry basket or a square plastic carrier and put an oven grate on top of either of these to keep the kittens securely inside while you transport them.|||get a wagon and make some sort of lid for it
