Do you have to enlist to work as deck crew on a carrier?

If you wanted to work as a deck crewman on an aircraft carrier for the Us marine corps, would you have to enlist? Also what kinds of different jobs are there as deck crew?|||Yes. Every person on board a ship or that works on a flight line is enlisted. Most contractors are in some sort of admin position and are more often then not are prior service members. You also have to be able to qualify for the security clearance of the area your going to work in.|||About the only way you could get onto an aircraft carrier without enlisting would be if you worked as a tech rep for a company that does Military contracting (maybe GE, GM, Stewart Stevenson) or if you worked at a shipyard, But these would only be for short times to work on something specific.|||Try posting this at "Military".

The planes may belong to the Marines, but the deck crew belongs to the ship, they are Navy.|||talk to a Marine Corps. Recruiter..

However if it's Aircraft Carriers your after Navy ownes them... good luck!!
