What should I look for in buying a Cat Carrier to fly out my cats?

Im going to be shipping my cats under-cabin on a plane cross country, what is important as far as safety, and basics in a good cat carrier? Thank you!|||Each cat must have their own carrier, which should made of sturdy plastic and large enough so that your cats can stand up, turn around and lie down. It must also have ventilation holes on all four sides and a secure locking mechanism. The carrier must have LIVE ANIMAL STICKERS on the top and sides in letters at least one inch tall.

This article below has further information on the legal requirements and helpful advice on choosing the safest carrier for your cats.

You need to be sure the door is securly locked and the carrier cannot come apart.

Unless you are traveling with the cat personally, the cat will be shipped in cargo - not in cabin with the passengers. Also you will need a vet certificate of health dated no more then 10 days before shipping.|||yikers! that's not good.
