What are all the controll wires going to a carrier infinity condensor?

what are all the controll wires going to a carrier infinity condensor? straight cool not a heat pump. there are 6 wires A B C D then 2 additional controll wires running to an outdoor air sensor for the inside UI controller. what the hell are A B C D? i dont understand multiple wires to a straight residential A/C|||That is a two speed compressor and two speed condensor fan.

So you have to have at least a high, low, and common. That covers three of them. The fourth I don't know. Could be another sensor. Or may be the fan can be cycled up separately depending on the ambient temp or coil temp sensed by that air sensor.

For wiring it up I would guess it just has to be matched to the other end.

On the panel to the condensor unit there should be a schematic that may label the inputs and/or a tech sheet should be in there somewhere.

Or a tech sheet for the control unit. (The thermostat may be the control unit or there might be a separate board).

Good Luck.

What is the step-by-step hand signal procedure for launching a plane from a Navy carrier?

What specific series of steps (checks, hand signals, communication, etc) do the various men take to launch a plane from an aircraft carrier?|||Having spent 2 years on the flight deck crew of an aircraft carrier, I will tell you that this is such a complex and co-ordinated process that there isn't room here to tell it to you. It is so loud and intense during launch and recovery ops that all communication is either done using sign language or light signals using wands.

When you have planes coming at you from both ends of the deck, your head is on a swivel constantly. All you need to do is see the film of a plane pusher getting sucked into an intake to realize how dangerous it is.|||Check http://www.navysite.de/cvn/catcom.htm for them.

Which mobile phone carrier in England has the best coverage and pay as you go plans?

I am moving to London for six months and am looking to purchase a pay as you go mobile phone for the time I am there. Out of O2, Orange, Vodafone, and T mobile, which carrier has the best service coverage and the best valued plans (especially for texting)? Thanks!|||I am with Giffgaff http://giffgaff.com/ and I can say they are GREAT !

They are really cheap (8p calls and 4p texts) and they include unlimited internet !

For 拢10 you can get unlimited internet, unlimited texts, and 250 mins ! AND its not a contract, it's pay as you go !!!

If you get the Giffgaff sim through me you get 拢5 free credit when you activate it. Oh and Giffgaff runs on o2 so you get their great coverage.

Oh and if you get your mates to join Giffgaff, you can call and text eachother for FREE !

These maps will give you an idea of the outdoor coverage you can expect on each network. They can't tell you the coverage indoor as it's impossible to access every building to test this. Some building will have the same coverage indoors as outdoor, but some, usually older buildings, or those with thick concrete walls and lead windows will have considerably less coverage as these things can interfere with the signal.

You can request a free Pay As You Go SIM card from most of the networks to test the coverage out for yourself in the areas you're going to be using it.|||Vodafone.

Use Asda mobile which uses Vodafones network, and just charges 8p per minute, and 4p per text.

However I recently found a newish network that works of o2 Network coverage. It was made by a major o2 manager or something. Its called GiffGaff, honestly best value for money I have heard off.

What should I look for in buying a Cat Carrier to fly out my cats?

Im going to be shipping my cats under-cabin on a plane cross country, what is important as far as safety, and basics in a good cat carrier? Thank you!|||Each cat must have their own carrier, which should made of sturdy plastic and large enough so that your cats can stand up, turn around and lie down. It must also have ventilation holes on all four sides and a secure locking mechanism. The carrier must have LIVE ANIMAL STICKERS on the top and sides in letters at least one inch tall.

Airline pilots! Are lifevests included in the weight and balance basic operating weight of an air carrier?

air carrier aircraft. If yes, if they are removed for an overwater flight, would the equipment list and weight and balance have to be recalculated?

Thanks|||Yes.|||If they were removed from the aircraft that carrier would be in violation of Federal and International law, but yes the weight and balance would have to be recalculated. The difference would be negligible.|||There is a slight distinction in terminology:

The BASIC empty weight (BEW) is defined by the FAA for transports as the weight of the airplane with permanently installed equipment, including trapped fluids and full oil.

The OPERATIONAL empty weight (OEW) is the BEW plus operational items, including crew, crew bags, passenger service items, catering, potable water, lavatory toilet fluid, and emergency equipment.

Once onboard, overwater emergency equipment is seldom removed because of the difficulties in tracking the equipment and the weight change that would result. Such a removal would be a very small percentage of the takeoff weight of the airplane, not worth the effort.

Also, should the need arise for a spare airplane for overwater ops, that airplane would no longer be available, reducing the options for the timely completion of an interrupted flight.

If an airplane is permanently removed from overwater operations, the equipment would be removed and a new BOW would be calculated.

Can a mail carrier vehicle pass a stopped school bus?

It seems that sometime in my past that I heard that a mail carrier is the only vehicle that did not have to stop for a stopped school bus.

A school employee did not know the answer.|||No vehicle can pass a stopped school bus that has it's flashing lights on. No flashing lights...you can pass.|||Absolutely not, no vehicle may pass a stopped school bus legally, but if they were to choose to do so ( which they would not out of concern for children ) an emergency vehicle would possibly be excused, but that would depend on the judge. The highest point amount you can get on your license for a single violation is to passed a stopped school bus. Never do that! not because of the ticket, but because you would have to face yourself for the rest of your life if you were to run over a child.|||no, nor can a mail truck run redlights or stopsigns, nor do they have right of way over police cars, ambulances or firetrucks|||Here in Nevada, you can not pass a school buss with any vehicle.

Think about it if a mail truck was to hit a child not only can you sue the driver, but the goverement. No person driving a vehicle motorcycle, car, truck, goverement or not can pass a school bus loading or unloading children.|||actually michael is right today but before the post office went private they had the right of way in most circumstances because they were federal.|||As said before,no. But I'd like to know why they pass my mailbox even when the flag is up.|||Mail carriers must follow the same rules as any other vehicle.|||no and no|||No. A mail carrier can not pass a school bus that is stopped with it's stop arm extended and lights flashing. The only vehicle(s) that can legally pass are police, ambulance/paramedic vehicles with flashing red lights, and firetrucks. They must be enroute to an emergency situation with their red lights flashing.|||Laws in all 50 states require that drivers stop when the red lights are flashing indicating that the school bus is loading or unloading passengers.

It is never legal to pass a school bus from behind when the red lights are flashing, and it is generally illegal to pass such a school bus when traveling in the opposite direction. In a few states, it is legal to pass a stopped school bus with flashing red lights when traveling in the opposite direction on a divided highway.

The school bus is the only vehicle other than police and fire/rescue vehicles that can legally stop traffic.

How long is too long to use your infant carrier?

My daughter is 18 months and is pretty tall. She weighs about 23 pounds. My husband forgot to leave me with the car seat and I have to go somewhere. Is it ok to use the infant carrier?|||If your daughter exceeds the limits of the carseat, then it shouldn't be used. The carseat is not strong enough to protect a child bigger than what it was designed for. |||No! Most infant carriers have a weight/height limit. For example, the Graco Snugride limits are about 29 inches in height and 22 pounds in length. Check the manufacturer's website for weight and height limits for your particular model. It's very important you don't put your daughter in a car seat she has outgrown; if you're in an accident, she is not protected!|||I think the longest you could use it is till the baby is about 12m or 20 pounds which ever comes first. I wouldn't risk it. God forbide someone hits you while driving. your daughter could be seriously injuried.

My mom trys to put my 7 year in a car seat and i'll explained to her that she can't go in it anymore because she is 45 pounds andf its weight LIMIT is 40. She is being lazy and just doesn't want to take it out and have to later but it back in for her "other" kids|||It depends on what kind of infant seat you have. My seat was made for children up 30 pounds. (newer larger graco brand) I don't remember the height restriction on it but check the owners manual on your seat and see what it says.|||When you decide whether or not to use a particular seat for your child, you have to take weight, age and height into consideration, because there are limits for each. When you look at the safety guides given to you online, they usually talk about age and weight, but don't take height into account. I found this confusing too. What I discovered is that the car seat manual usually tells you about the height requirement. They'll either tell you how high on the back of the chair that your child's head should reach, or they'll tell you the maximum height that your child should be.

I hope this has helped. My daughter is tall for her age also, and I found this confusing too.

If your daughter isn't within the limits, then it isn't okay to use the seat.

Do you have a neighbor with a similar sized child who might loan you a seat? Or maybe someone with an older child who might have an old one.|||You shouldn't use it past 12 months or 20 lbs, whichever comes first. If your daughter is past that, the car seat isn't safe for her anymore.

Is it possible to make a submersible aircraft carrier?

With the stealth of a submarine and the outreaching power of a carrier, the sub-carrier would be the ultimate naval weapon. The sub would surface to launch and receive it's aircraft and if threatened could could submerse and dissapear from view. The reason why this would be needed is the vulerability of our carriers to the advancement in anti-shipping missles.

Is such a weapon feasible?|||They already do...its called a submarine with Tomahawk Cruise Missiles. The subs are also capable of launching unmanned aerial vehicles....the future of the modern aviation battlefield.|||in due time yes it will...|||Yes it is, but just because something can be done, doesn't mean it will make sense to actualy do it.|||This was considered by both the US and by Japan in WWII. The idea was to construct a large sub (Japan already had one), get close to the other nation's shore line and surface at night. The aircraft carried would then be assembled and would be able to attack large coastal cities, returning to the sub as sea plains and be taken back on board before the enemy knew what was going on. Needless to say, it didn't work. There is no need for this combination in today's climate. We can fire all the missiles we need to off our subs now, with greater efficiency.|||With present underwater detection systems, such a craft could not justify itself as a viable weapon. We would know if such a craft was being built and could hone infrared detectors in satellites to track such craft.

Unfortuantely, you can't genuinely expect significant savings on such an in-demand commodity like cell phones. That's like asking "where can I find significant savings on a new car". It's worth what it's worth.

The carriers essentially are buying the phones so they can give them to you (so you can give them money). A friend of mine has been diagnosed with a staph infection (not MRSA). My son is a carrier of MRSA but not infected. Can exposure to my friend cause my son to have a MRSA flare-up?|||A different strain of staph infection would not likely cause MRSA to flare up - for the most part, having MRSA has no effect on exposure to other strains of staph. If anything, exposure to a different strain of staph has the possible (but unlikely) effect of displacing the MRSA strain with the new strain.

Very versatile! I have not seen or tried the Ergo.|||Go for a SPOC (simple piece of cloth) style one rather than a structured one.

Moby wraps, Hug a bubs, sleepy wraps, and ring slings are all good for the larger person. Most even have sizing available for the TRULY rotund (and you have to be pretty hefty to need to upsize with these!)

This site has ring slings for plus sized women and their creator was NOT petite and was able to wear the smallest one she made.

I believe Ergo has extensions for their waist straps if you prefer.

What would be the effect of increasing the carrier gas flow rate, raising the column temperature, retention?

What would be the effect of increasing the carrier gas flow rate, raising the column temperature, have on the retention time?

Can anyone help me with this chem question?|||In GC a low temp %26lt;180 degrees will cause good separation in early eluting components but may result in longer retention times and band broadening in components (bound to stat phase) which take longer in the column.

At a higher temperature e.g at 250 degrees the solutes which are retained in the stat phase are now eluted faster with the mobile phase thus lower retention times. the first eluted peaks are also eluted faster. Thus peaks formed will be very close to each other resulting in poor resolution.

Thus both high and low temps are problematic.

The solution is to use temperature programming.

i.e start at 150 degree (to elute first peaks) and than increase to 250 degrees to elute longer retained components. This result in good peak separation ie good resolution and no band broadening....

By altering the carrier gas flow rate one is affecting the b and c terms of van deemter equation....By increasing the flow rate one is reducing the band broadening caused by molecular diffusion since there is less time for backward or longitudinal diffusion. Therefore use highest flow rate possible within limits imposed by the c term since by increasing flow rate, analyte in mob phase will move ahead of analyte retained in the stat phase resulting in band broadening. Thus reduce the flow rate within values imposed by the b term(resistance to mass transfer).

Hope this will help you!

Can I still use TPG as my carrier? If yes, then how do I unlock my phone?|||Yay - another Australian with an iPhone 4! None of my friends managed to get one, they're still waiting on the restock.

|||That doesn't sound right. Here is what TPG have to save on their website:

1.33. What is Micro SIM?

The Micro SIM is a new type of SIM card which is used for the iPad (and other devices such as the iPhone 4). To connect to 3G network to use your iPad, you will need a Micro SIM card in your iPad and a TPG Mobile plan. TPG's $1 Pay As You Go Mobile plan is great for iPad users. Pay a small access fee of $1 a month and the rest you pay per use at some of the cheapest rates around. TPG DSL (ADSL, ADSL2+ and Naked ADSL2+) customers receive 150MB of data per month (or 50MB for Non TPG DSL Customers).

Micro SIM is 12mm * 15mm, which is smaller than the standard size SIM card at 15mm* 25mm.

You will not need to unlock your phone as iPhones sold through the Apple store are already unlocked.

Call TPG back and if they are still telling you the wrong information point them to their own faq page and you should be online in no time!|||if you just google how to unlock iphone 4 youll find it. That's how I did all my iphones there's step by step instructions so no need to pay anyone.

Has anyone boarded a plane recently with the SturdiBag pet carrier?

I am due to relocate to the US later this year with my two lovely cats. I've come across the SturdiBag pet carrier, which seems really good %26amp; according to most websites is airline approved - despite the fact that the Large carrier exceeds (by an inch or two) most airlines' maximum dimensions for cabin approved carriers. I was hoping someone may have had recent experience and can tell me whether or not this carrier was accepted. One of my cats is really quite long and both are quite heavy and so would not fit very comfortably in the small carrier.|||Hi there...prior to travel consider contacting the airline you will fly to learn what are their restrictions and requirements for pet travel carriers. Some airlines will not accept certain carriers even if the products state they are airline approved. Airlines ultimately have the control of what they allow for pet travel in order to minimize the liability to them rather than for our pets (which should be otherwise). Additionally, consider selecting an airline which will allow in-cabin pet traveling. This will ensure the safety of your cats rather than having them travel in cargo, which long distance flights loss of cargo does occur.

Have a safe journey back home to the states with your two cats.

Thanks|||Its by far Stacomms, which is #12 per min. What's the difference in a Carrier 3 ton evaporator coil model CNRVP3617 and model CARVP3614ATA?

I received 2 different quotes to replace my 3 ton furnace and evaporator coil, and I noticed the furnace models were the same on each quote, but the carrier evaporator coil models were slightly different--wondering if one is better than other? Thanks!|||From what i knoiw about the carrier and bryant model numbers the first letter is for Carrier MFG, the 2nd is the shape of the coil either and A or N, the VP I believe is for the expantion device and VP is a valve piston I think, the 36 is for 36,000 (3 tons ) of cooling and the 17 is 17" wide and 14 is 14" wide one of these will fit a 17" wide gas furnace and the other will fit a 14" wide gas furnace, the ATA may be tin plated but Im not up on thet aspect of the model number. Ask the bidder to break it down for you and if they cant ask them when they can get an answer back to you. If they shift around and dont want to provide you with these answers this kind of gives you the expectation of the kind of service you can expect. I could find out for you but the supplier is closed at this time.

Also seems a few months ago the warranty was differant for Tin plated vs Non tin plated coils. I dont know if there is still a differant warranty on them at this time or not.

Also just because the furnace may be bigger (usually 17" wide on 3 ton) the 14" coil can be "blanked off externally and be made to work fine.

Also I assume your going with R22? If these guys didnt bother to tell you about R410A - PURON - Ask them why not. These systems are more efficient and the Refrigerant is allready in the $20/lb range here in Oklahoma and the R22 is around $15 but climbing and wont be made after 2010.|||The difference is the width.

The first one is 17" wide cased coil R-22 refrigerant and the other is 14" wide uncased coil R-22 refrigerant.

The smaller width uncased must be a mistake. It needs or should match the width of the furnace.

Why would the fan shut off and the compressor still run on a carrier air conditioner.?

I have a carrier air conditioner. For some reason the fan will shut off but the compressor is still running. Then it flips the breaker. I have changed the motor and put on a new one but it keep happening the same way. Does anyone know of anything else that I can do? Are there any web sites that I could check out? Where can I find the wiring schematics? Thank for the help.|||You have fan motor getting ready to go bad, or the grease has dried out in the bearing. Spray some WD 40 around bearing on shaft, there is no place to oil, this may help. Turn off all power be fore raising cover. I would also flip breaker off. If your are unsure how to do this call a professional.|||If you have a large commercial/industrial unit

This should never happen, the coil will ice up, and the compressor will trip out on head pressure. Worst case the coil will split (if safeties fail)

Check the overload on the indoor fan contactor (there should be a reset push button on it). if its tripping on overload you could have either a faulty overload, an incorrectly set overload or the fan might be on the way out. the overload should be set (roughly) to the rated current of the fan (usually printed on the motor somewhere A or Amps) plus 10%ish (there is a correct formula, but this is all a tech would do).|||This sounds like a short. If it trips the breaker, first see if the circuit it is on is large enough in capacity. Next look for other strain on the circuit or a break.

If you cannot find the wiring diagrams, contact Carrier (or a dealer) or look online. You also might be able to get a book on eBay.

Do you have a voltmeter? You need to be chasing down the fault on this thing. It would be a good investment if you are as handy as you sound. Maybe rent one for the day otherwise. Or just break down and call an electrician.

How does sideband physically generate in Amplitude Modulation of a Carrier wave?

i dont want the mathematical way of how sidebands(upper and lower) are generated.

please explain why does this sideband generate even though we just modulate the amplitude of the carrier.

and again why does the carrier does not contain any information and the sidebands do?|||The information in a signal is added to the carrier which is just a constant frequency. The sidebands are the carrier frequency plus or minus the modulation frequency.

Because they are either entirely above or below the carrier frequency it is possible to use a narrow band filter to seperate one or the other side band.

The carrier is a constant frequency which doesn't change so does not have any information to contribute to the signal, except the frequency that must be added to the sideband to recover the signal.|||Sidebands are generated using a balanced modulator which is designed to eliminate the carrier frequency. However, the sum and difference frequencies are generated as sidebands. (Carrier Freq plus and minus the Amplitude Modulation Frequencies.) In order to recover the Modulation Frequencies, the carrier must be re-inserted by the receiver using a bfo or ssb mode. Receiving using AM mode will not sound right because the carrier is suppressed before being transmitted.

Do you know of a cell phone carrier offering a family plan for two members with different area codes?

My husband wants to keep his Chicago area code because he uses his cell for his Chicago-based job, but we live in San Diego so I'd like to keep my San Diego area code. AT%26amp;T can't do a family plan with two different area codes. Anyone know of a carrier that will do it?|||You are going to have a hard time finding a company that can do that for you. The reason why is because most locations are restricted to their own areas for activations. That way they don't have to worry about stealing business from each other within the company. Places that are borderline of area codes, like right on the state line can usually do it, but only for the local area, not wherever the customer chooses. You would probable have to port the San Diego number in from there, and then port the Chicago number in from Chicago. That's the only way I can think of to do it. Good luck!|||Me and my sons mother are on a family plan but she lives in Maryland and I live in Virginia. I have a Maryland area code so as far as I know you cant do that. You just have to pick what area code you want the plan to be under.

How long after vaccinating can I expose my kitten to a cat flu carrier?

We plan to get a kitten but I want to protect her from catching cat flu from my cat who is a carrier. I understand that there is no guarantee from vaccinating her, but wondering if 2 weeks after the first vaccination is long enough? Or should she have 2 doses before she is exposed? I believe that it takes at least 2 weeks for antibodies to be circulating to protect her.|||You have to be careful and talk to your vet. You can't vaccinate against all of the upper respiratory viruses, and kittens are pretty fragile. It also depends on the age of the kitten. Even three or four month olds are more fragile than you would think.

Another poster on this site said that one of the reasons that kittens can receive up to three vaccinations is because we don't know exactly when their immune systems are working well enough for the vaccinations to be effective. So...if you have a choice between kittens, pick the older one, and plan on two or three injections before introducing it to your cat. Ask your veterinarian about how long to wait after the last one. I think two weeks is long enough for a human flu shot to work, but I'm not sure about a kitten! : )

And even though upper respiratory viruses can be fatal to cats or kittens, it sounds like you would know exactly what to watch for - the tiniest amount of eye boogers, nasal discharge, lack of appetite, sneezing, or difficulty breathing. And prompt veterinary care - antibiotics, and fluids if necessary - should take care of it.

I don't know if you're planning to get a kitten from a shelter, foster home, or breeder, but if you went with a foster home or breeder, I would think that they would be more than happy to keep the kitten for you until it's had all the vaccinations your veterinarian recommends, since respiratory viruses are airborne. As much as I like adopting from shelters, kittens in foster homes (from licensed rescue groups) or from breeders would probably be under less stress, and therefore less likely to get sick.

I wish you the best of luck with your new kitten. Have fun, and I hope everybody stays healthy!|||You must talk to your vet about this. Don't expose a pet until the full series of vaccinations are complete and the full strength or the vaccine is protecting the system. As you said, a vaccine does not guarantee total protection but may lessen the disease if it is transferred.

How to stop my kitten from meowing in the pet carrier?

I know it might be a dumb question but my 10 week old male kitten will constantly meow when he's in his pet carrier. I don't keep him in there or anything but when I go home on the weekends I like to take him with me, and I put him in the carrier. It seems like the whole two hour drive he meows constantly, and I feel so bad, but I'm not letting him out to just roam the car while I drive. What can I do? Anyone have a solution?|||The key statement you make here is, "I like to take him with me." What does he like? Probably not having to be cooped up in a carrier for a long ride every weekend.

Kitties are fine to be left alone for a couple of days as long as they have plenty of food and water, toys to play with and a clean litterbox. How much money does a newspaper carrier make?

What is the most comfortable baby carrier?

Baby wearers: What carrier/sling do you like the best, how easy to use is it, and how much did you pay for it? Thanks!

I'm currently considering the maya wrap and mobi wrap.|||My two favorites:

1) The Maya Wrap Ring Sling. This one I got when my daughter was about a year old, and it was STILL so useful. It was the easiest thing to breastfeed her in on-the-go. Unlike a pouch sling, the ring sling adjusts to you and your baby until it fits like a glove. It also offers different position possibilities over a mere pouch, especially when you are talking about an infant. It is worth the money. The fabric on this particular brand is perfect. It doesn't slip through the rings and is very secure. Also, there is a nifty little pocket on the tail for your keys, a diaper, etc. Plus, the tail makes a good nursing cover, if you are so inclined to use it. It's also a good way to shield baby's eyes from the light if they are trying to nap. They come in so many beautiful colors too! It's pretty easy to use, and if you leave it threaded between uses, the hardest part is behind you after the first time. Check this out, you can get one for $39.99 gently used in the outlet! (See sources.) My only complaint is that if you are wearing this for hours at a time, your shoulder will get tired and you'll need to switch to the other one, which brings me to #2...

2) The Moby Wrap. This thing is so cozy! I just loved how it felt having my daughter wrapped up against me. She loved to nap in it, and the fabric is so soft, yet supportive. I recently bought a Storchenwiege wrap, which I think would be better for heavier babies, but the Moby is awesome. It cost me $40. This looks beautiful on. It's not as hard as it looks to learn, and you can find video instructions on YouTube. Once you put it on, if you are driving several different places you can leave the wrap on you and just take your baby in and out of it to save time.

Other favorites: Ergo (to share with dad), EllaRoo (sooo supportive and comfy; a little aggravating to get on), hotsling (easy to learn for a first-timer, easy to run in and out of a store), Storchenwiege (expensive but so beautiful!)

Good luck!|||I have one of both styles, but I made both of mine. The moby wrap style (I actually patterned it after the sleepy wrap) cost me $6 to make two. I bought six yards of $1 light t-shirt type material and cut it in half the long way (Yes, it is really that easy!). I gave one to a friend (a nice gift that cost me $3 and she thought was great....lol) and kept one. I also made my ring sling. The rings cost me $7 (including shipping from www.slingrings.com) and the fabric cost me $9. So less than $20 for my ring sling. I now make the ring slings to sell here in my town. Trying to promote baby wearing here, so I sell them cheap!!

Anyway, I prefer the moby type wrap when they are little and the maya type wrap when they are bigger. I have a 28 lb 21 month old son whom I still wear (when he will let me. I prefer to wear him so he doesn't tear down the stores we visit!!) and I am 4 months pregnant. They both have their uses and I really recommend both! If you have any kind of sewing skill at all I would say make them instead!!|||http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2266783%26amp;CAWELAID=107511262

i have tried many and i absolutley love this one. Many people in the reviews say it is confusing.......yeah if you are a complete moron. it comes with a dvd on how to wear it many different ways. it is wahable, comfortable and actually supports your back. not to mention it's a great price|||A lot of people don't like the mobi wrap, they find it too stretchy.

You can make your own wrap. Making a couple out of really cheap fabric that you don't even have bother sewing because they are just testers can help you discover what kind of fabric you want.|||I'm using the peanut shell sling and I like it but it is a little hard for me to get the baby in and out. I paid $40.00 for it.|||Take a look at The Cuddly Wrap and My Baby Nest. Both are versatile, very easy to use and are multi-positional|||Ergo-Baby!!! 100% best investment. Easy on my back, and baby loves it. It was a little over $100, so kinda pricey, but WORTH it!! And it'll carry up to 40lbs.|||the one's from wal-mart...i don't know why..."can you pick me for best answer please?"

What is a good cell phone carrier for my mom?

I'm trying to find a new cell phone carrier for my mom- she has a contract that expires in a couple months with Cingular. She doesn't like any of the major networks, but she needs something where she can use the phone pretty much anywhere on the Eastern Coast. I've looked, and I think we get good coverage in our are for them all except for T-Mobile. It needs to cost what it says it will- that was my mom's major complaint with Cingular, and it would help if we could get a good family plan so that I can have a cell phone in case of emergencies.|||It really depends on the area you're in. In eastern North Carolina, US Cellular is the best. In other parts of the state, Verizon works better. Some say Alltel is good. What you would want to do is go to one of the specialty stores that represent several carriers and tell them you want to take a phone for a test drive. You want to make sure it works from your mom's house and the area she travels most. Digital service such as Sprint and Cingular are good when they work. But they don't have many towers in rural areas. Good luck. Also make sure you get a good phone. Motorola phones seem to work best from my experience. LG phones aren't so great. Test drive one of those when you're trying out the service. But talk to someone in your area. Since the service level is different in different areas of the country.|||No phone plan costs what it is advertised to cost because there are a lot of taxes that add almost 18% to the bill. Another problem may have been overage - if she used more minutes than she had. You could go with a prepaid plan - that way you never get a bill, you just buy a card and add it to your account.|||basically all ceel phone companies do that its in the contract u sign that is subject to change, may i suggest trying pre-paid phone u can put any amount u want and never have a problem with a bill looks like a shoe in for u to get a cell phone as well|||I lived/went/toschool/travelled down much of the east coast and my Alltel phone worked just fine for the most part. My friends with Verizon always had service (except in a very remote part of New Jersey and in the backwoods of the Virginia coast.) I'm sure if you or your mom went to a cell phone kiosk, a representative for the company would show you a map of their service areas. Most companies these days offer comparable plans which include family bundles and nationwide long distance. As for cost, be sure to read the fine print- cell phone companies make their money of stupid people who sign contracts and miss the "activation and service charge" and stuff like that.|||Check This Site Out!

I pay $69.00 for two lines, I get 900 minutes and all my Roll Over minutes. My bill usually comes out to 86 dollars and some cents, which is ok for two lines.|||I used to sell cell phones and all the plans are a rip off. EVERY SINGLE ONE is a scam. When you are looking into plans always expect at least twenty five dollars more per month than is advertised. Plus then you are stuck for two years, and you are paying a $36 activation fee. The best way to go is with a plan that Cingular has. It is $100. No plan, no contract. It is called their go phone pick your plan. The $100 is like a prepaid card, but in the form of a phone. And the best part is it last the entire year. If she is only using it for emergencies than this would be a perfect perfect bet for her.

What is the easiest way to get a cat into a cat carrier for a vet visit?

I have a hard time getting my cat into the carrier for trips. Any advice?|||If your kitty likes treats, train the cat to go into the carrier on its own. I used to live miles out of town. Because we lived so far from help if there was a fire, I trained my cats by shaking the treat box and tossing a few pieces into the carriers. We practiced fire drills more or less regularly and we could get the whole crew out in less than a minute and a half. The bonus was and is that anytime I need to load a cat in a carrier, I generally have more volunteers than I want. Before I learned that little trick, I found the easiest way to load an uncooperative cat was to put it in tail first. Even then, I would give them a treat for going into the carrier. Good luck |||put a towel in there with catnip on it|||Set it up on end and put the cat in head first. Hold his legs in close to his body and firmly push him in. You might also want to try putting some cat nip in there.|||Wrap your cat in a towel and put your cat in head first with the carrier tipped on it's side. No need for a towel really unless your cat goes insane and scratches you. What's worked for me is I used to leave the cat carrier in the house a lot so they got used to it. Now when I bring it out, my cats curiously wander inside. Sometimes they just sit in there, waiting to go somewhere and its not a big deal at all. For an older cat put a dry washcloth in with tissues folded in. My cat does not like catnip but if yours does put it in the carrier. Put a few treats in their and her or his favorite toy in. The cat may also meow put say that its okay.|||Shut your cat in another room before taking the carrier out of its storage space to avoid too much pre-anxiety. If your cat already "hates" the carrier due to prior bad associations...e.g. vet, etc., you will have to do as has been suggested and gently wrap him/her in a towel and lower into the carrier, being sure not to pinch any parts when you close the door.

Cats are, as we all know, very environment-oriented and once they know "the carrier", do tend to hate it, especially if they associate it with unpleasant trips to the vet. There's not much you can do except help your kitty get through it as quickly as possible. |||As the owner of an angry cat, I say quickly!

I don't bring the cat cage down before I put her in it (or she would suspect). I get my husband to open it up and put it on a 45-degree angle, while I grab her by the back of the neck and ease her in.

Once she's in there, I think we're all a little relieved. Even her.

|||Put the carrier on end with the open end facing up. Pick the cat up like a baby with a stinky diaper, and put him in tail end first.

Have the cat's legs towards the roof of the carrier as you put him in (because most carriers have ventilation slots on the side that he could use to climb up, and may also have padding in the bottom that he could sink his claws into).

Most importantly, put the cat in quickly, and close the carrier door quickly.

It may help to do this in a small room with a closed door and few or no places for a cat to hide. That way, if the cat does get away from you, it'll be easier to recapture him.

Can any other birds besides the carrier pigeon be trained en mass to carry letters?

What was so special about carrier pigeons, and why haven't we trained any more? Could other birds do that job, like crows? Basically, I have a free SMS service available to me to send text messages via my e-mail, but the last three I tried came back as "this wireless number belongs to a carrier we don't work with."

What type of fabric would you use to make a baby wrap carrier?

Just wondering what type of fabric is used to make your own baby wrap carrier? Do they require sewing?|||Any fabric that does not stretch much will work. I tend to use jersey fabric as it is soft and can be dyed lots of colors (comes in lots of nice colors too). Lighter fabrics in summer, heavier in winter.

I did once use a silk/hemp blend when I needed a wrap carrier during a formal event (Yes, I brought my newborn and it won me great praise in my career- go figure).

They do not need sewing other than edging, for the most part. There are a few ways of using them to wrap that require a sew-in pocket but I simply do not trust those in the least. I use wrap carriers because I know there is no chance a ring or seem will end up coming undone and my baby being dropped!|||http://www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/Baby/

This site is a great resource for making your own sling...even the type of fabric you need. Ideally you want something heavy like light weight upholstery fabric.

http://www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/Baby/fab鈥?/a>

The sewing totally depends on the type of carrier. Jan Andrea actually has a no sew ring sling pattern, if sewing does not suit you =)|||I would suggest a plushy cotton blanket. Make sure it is not rough in any way, and big enough too. You should be able to find some at baby stores, and it shouldn't require sewing unless you want to make your own homemade blanket.

What is the best cell phone carrier for internet?

Which carrier has the fastest and most reliable internet?

Between AT%26amp;T, Verizon, Alltel, T-Mobile, Sprint. If you think of another one please list it.|||depends on where you live, i heard Sprint has the most reliable 3G and now 4G network, while AT%26amp;T and verizon are close with eachother and have great phones they also have EXPENSIVE plans and data plans.

tmobile i have been with for 6 years, im very happy with them and there plans are AFFORDABLE, the internet isnt top of the line like other carriers but they do have 3g depending on where you live, (big city or small)

it also depends on if you are leaving the country or like to switch cellphones alot without getting new contracts. if you leave the country and love to switch phones then TMOBILE, AT%26amp;T ARE your best best because they are GSM service and use sim cards that can be easily swapped in and out of your phone into a new phone and walla, no calling the carrier to setup the new phone. as with sprint, verizon, alltel you have to call them up and get the serial numbers switched and this could cost you some cash.

make sure you check the service coverage maps of all carriers to see that your covered in your area, pick the one that has the best coverage.|||t-mobile|||I'd say AT%26amp;T because its like world wide and the best for stuff.

How long does a Navy aircraft carrier deploy for?

My brother is in the Navy and his nuclear power aircraft carrier is scheduled to depart in August 2009. I am trying to plan my wedding according to his deployment schedule. If he departs in August 2009, when is the latest he will be back? And if he comes back after 6 months (hypothetically) can he be shipped out in the next month due to an emergency or whatever the case may be? Should I expect a guaranteed month and year of when he'll be home? HELP! I'm really concerned that my brother may miss my wedding! Thanks in advance!|||if its a new ship they are going to do a big show boat run with it to show it of. this is mostly around the world and will be 6-9+ mo's. if its the normal schedule deployment while there to Leave in august 09 they will be doing a lot of pre cruse stuff. those are 2 weeks to 2 mos in length and they change then about the way the wind blows.but after they do get out the door and head out for where ever it will be 6-9 mo's and after he will get a chance for a few weeks of on leave.then a few mo's off then it starts all over again.

its not just a adventure,,,, its a job. the first 4 years i was married i was home for Ever major holiday but my daughters birth. Once.... |||He will be at sea 9 months of the year unless his ship goes into the yard. However long the Navy says his long cruise will be, it will be extended another month. When he gets back he will have max liberty for a while.

A month after he gets back he will go out on work ups for his next long cruise. Usually a month out, a month in.|||This is tough question... just know that there are no guarantees. When I was in, the way that it worked was atleast 9 months out, and that you came back for a while and worked up to being gone again. Tack on another month or two from when he says he will be back.|||6 months to a year they can change it in the middle of a deployment if they want to and it changes all the time|||It depends on their mission.

What is life as a Pilot like on a carrier?

I plan on joining the Marines as a Pilot, I Will be going to the Naval Academy and hoping to be stationed on a carrier at some time in my career. What is life like on a carrier for a pilot? What are their quarters like? Are you treated like any other officer or do you have special privileges?|||You life ain't much different than a Naval Pilot. You go to same training with them, however your squadron made up all marine pilots but some mechanic will be Navy, if you do good during your first duty station, and had excellent flight record could apply for Top Gun.

To be hornets i respect Marine officer more than Navy, because they usually are better behave treat enlisted either navy or marine better unlike some Naval Officer who too often point out rank. I know this since i work one deployment during service for the officer quarter and mess room. Quarter for squadron is not as good as ship's officer, because most of the squadron crew either officer or enlisted station in O3 level which can get a lot of noise when launch and recover aircraft. Quarter size is about the same as ship's officer, if you rank is Captain or below you will get roomate from 6 to 4 usually, Major and up can get 1 roomate, executive officer and up has his or her own room, not always the case but mostly are structure like that. The room are similar to some of the college quarter size, the bed is much smaller however. Officer has its own mess room and bathroom, which often they don't had to wait in the in line unlike enlisted. Also you get off the ship faster than enlisted, they call out officer first, ranking matter a lot in a ship than in the base.

What's the best dog carrier for an american eskimo?

I wanted a carrier, either rolling or like a duffel bag that I can take my 20 lb american eskimo with me on trains and stuff. All the cute bags cater to super small dogs. The other ones that fit my dog aren't easy to travel with.|||http://www.sherpapet.com/products/index.鈥?/a>

Sherpas are sturdy, not cute, airline approved and have rolling bags|||I have a bag called "Sturdi-Bag" that comes in a number of sizes. Check it out on the web. It's the very best, IMO, because of the way it's constructed. It's also very lightweight.

And, if you happen to live in the US and not Europe, sorry to burst your bubble, but you can't take a dog on a train in the US. Other public transportation, yes, but not Amtrak.|||For the purpose of travel, I wouldnt bother with the soft-sided crates.. many public transportations do not allow for dogs to be transported in the soft crates.

Many of those "cute" bags are not actually appropriate for public transit either.. most of them are NOT airline approved.. they are for little paris hilton wanna-bes to shove their little dogs in and try to sneak them into wal-mart.

I reccommend you seek a solid-sided crate... such as a pet-mate vari-kennel..

you can also get a kit like this to put wheels and a handle on the crate..

http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/pr鈥?/a>

The only passenger train here in the US that I know of is Amtrak, which does not allow pets.. the only bus line that I know of is Greyhound, which also does not allow pets.. only some airlines allow pets.. and a 20 pound dog would be too big for carry on standards, so he would have to ride in cargo.. which would require a solid crate, not a soft-sided one.|||Sherpa Ultimates are good. The large size can carry up to 22 lbs. At least worth a look.

What is the best cell phone carrier that doesn't require internet plans with the purchase of a phone?

I was hoping to find a cell phone carrier that does not require you to purchase or activate a mobile internet plan/premium internet plan in order to be able to buy the phone. I was looking for a touchscreen but if you think that it is cool and a great phone, then please let me know! Right now i am on U.S. Cellular and every cool phone requires premium internet charges and i do not want that unless last resort.|||Verizon has touch screen phones that don't require a data plan. The enV Touch is one of them.

Do you have to enlist to work as deck crew on a carrier?

If you wanted to work as a deck crewman on an aircraft carrier for the Us marine corps, would you have to enlist? Also what kinds of different jobs are there as deck crew?|||Yes. Every person on board a ship or that works on a flight line is enlisted. Most contractors are in some sort of admin position and are more often then not are prior service members. You also have to be able to qualify for the security clearance of the area your going to work in.|||About the only way you could get onto an aircraft carrier without enlisting would be if you worked as a tech rep for a company that does Military contracting (maybe GE, GM, Stewart Stevenson) or if you worked at a shipyard, But these would only be for short times to work on something specific.|||Try posting this at "Military".

The planes may belong to the Marines, but the deck crew belongs to the ship, they are Navy.|||talk to a Marine Corps. Recruiter..

However if it's Aircraft Carriers your after Navy ownes them... good luck!!

How do I attach a rear carrier to my bicycle?

I just bought a rear cargo carrier for my bike and it came with NO instructions!

If you know of a site with instructions or you can explain it clearly, please post an answer!!!

Thanks!|||To fit the standard rear cargo carrier (which looks something like this: http://www.topeak.com/products/Racks/Exp鈥?/a>

Your bike should have some little holes on the frame near the rear hub. These are called 'braze-ons'. There should be some other little holes near the sear post (also called braze-ons). Your rack should have come with bolts that will fit these holes. Place the rack in roughly the correct spot on the bike, and thread the bolts through so that they take in first the carrier, then the frame, then add the nut on the other side of the frame.

The loose pieces of metal that connect to the holes near the seat tube are able to be bent it you need them to be.

Don't tighten with a spanner until all of the bolts are in place and the carrier is balanced parallel to the ground.

If all else fails, take it to a local bike shop and they will do it for you!

For other DIY bicycle issues the best site on the web is www.sheldonbrown.com|||You have to tell us what kind it is and who made it.

How to carry a wheel chair or walker with a hitch mount carrier on my car?

What is the best brand of carrier that will mount to my 1 1/4 trailer hitch on my car to carry a walker, or wheel chair on the outside of my car? Do I need to use a bicycle rack?|||It depends on what style lift will fit your needs. Or if you want just a ramp style cargo holder. There are many types of wheelchair lifts and platforms, its a matter of narrowing down what you want, and how much you have to spend. I would certianly get something made to hold a wheelchair to minimized accidentally losing the wheelchair off the back. If you type " wheelchair car carriers ?" in the internet search box you can start clicking and research what is out there one click at a time, I have a Ricon lift in my van which is a good company, and Braun is another good company that makes lifts. I know these two companies have been around for many many years. how ever are fairly spendy, there are a lot of links to companies that make all types of products, It may be a good idea to find a mobility specialist of some kind in your area. so that you are able to go see what is available and get some idea of ehat it is going to look like and how it will fit. And you may need a cover of some kind for rainy days, a vehicle kicks gallons of water out behind it going down the road, and in short order what ever is on the back will be a dirty filthy mess if unprotected from the elements.

How do I get my cat to not be scared of her carrier?

I just got a cat and she gets really scared when I put her in her carrier. She just meows and meows. Is there a way I can help teach her that it's not a bad place?|||Leave it out. Hopefully you have a hard plastic gate with a front gate. Take the front gate off and put a soft blanket inside of it and toss a catnip mouse or two inside of it. Eventually you cat will come check it out and may even end up napping in it. You can even take it slower than that. Take it apart and just put the lower half on the floor so it's open. Then once she's gone over to it and investigated it and gone inside it add the top after she gets out and see if she comes back to check it out.

Once she seems comfortable with the crate take her on a short ride in it - and give her a reward afterwards. This way she'll equate the crate with treats and not just scary car rides or going to the vet.

If you don't have a hard plastic crate like this by all means get one. The soft purse style ones are horrible for cats and can be quite frightening for them. They're also nearly impossible to clean and can often be escaped from.|||put a treat or toy in it when you put her in it and she may start to like it and make sure yo start out slow and leave her in there for shorts amount of time.|||Put Pillows In Her Carrier (Small Pillows)|||This is a good way to handle this problem. Leave the carrier out with the door open. Let kitty go in and out when she feels like it. Then, the next time you have to take her some where in the carrier she will know what to expect. It worked well for me when I had 6 cats. I had a couple of them that were so afraid of the carrier. After a while my cats got used to it.|||pet her before you put her in and after she is locked in talk in a happy voice and actually be happy (tey can sense emotions extremely well) while she is in the carrier give her some of her facorite food and put lots of blankets or things that she enjoys in the carrier. or when you are just at home and it is time for her to eat put her food and water in the carrier. do this every time you put her in the carrier until she is comfortable|||about a month before you need to use it take it out of storage and but it in a room in your house that is used often. then start putting treats next to it. after a few days put some treats inside the carrier. soon your cat will be very comfortable. i used this technique with my cat and it worked like a charm :)|||Limit her time in it as much as possible. Don't put her in it unless it is to transport her to the vet in the car, etc. Keep her out of it as much as possible, she's terrorified of it.

Open the door of the carrier and put something soft inside for her to sleep on. Sprinkle cat-nip all over the inside of the carrier once each day. She'll get more used to it.

But honestly, if you're only using it for transporting her, it won't be an issue. Don't put her in otherwise, cats don't need to be caged and shouldn't be caged like that.|||start by leaving it open in your house so she can get use to it. try putting toys/treats/cat beds or whatever she likes in there. don't force her or lock her in there until she is comfortable

What baby carrier will not cause lower back pain?

I have been using the baby bjorn carrier and my lower back is so sore it hurts to stand up. It is a old bjorn model but even the newer models with back support may fall short for what I need. What baby carrier doesn't cause lower back pain?|||I've yet to have a problem with the Ergo carrier. My daughter is 24lbs about, my son is about 13lbs, I carry him around a lot and don't run into lower-back pain. It goes up to 40lbs.

Add: I want to add, my husband runs a sale-pitch whenever anyone asks him about it. He LOVES it and swears by it. And I have carried our 2 year old around in it and had no problems. Mind you... I had a c-section and had no problem carrying her in it at 2 months after.|||I registered for and finally bought for myself the Baby Bjorn carrier. I really like this carrier. With a unhealthy back again, I come across the lumbar assistance extremely valuable. I do have to tighten it up, but is far from chopping off my breathing. My tiny lady loves riding in it too. She normally falls asleep inside of minutes of me putting her in it.

Try to check this out : http://www.babibjornactive.com|||It depends. I have a herniated disc at L5, and I do have back pain after about a half an hour with any carrier. I use an Ergo because it causes the least amount of pain. That said, if you don't have a herniated disc, I would imagine that it would be fine for you. Ergo is the shortened term for ergonomically correct, hence why it would be perfect for your back. But, for me, the strap hits right at my herniated disc and puts pressure right there. Again, if you don't have that issue, you'll be fine. If you do have that issue, then you aren't going to find a carrier that's going to be perfect.|||The Bjorns are notorious for back pain.

I've heard great things about the Ergo. My husband used a Beco Butterfly II and loved it, and I swear by the BabyHawk Mei Tai. I rarely wear my toddler anymore, but the last time I did, she was about 21 pounds, and I could wear her for hours with no discomfort in the Mei Tai. I'm only 5' tall and it was still comfortable for me.|||I'll chime in for the ergo, too. I can wear my 18lb baby for hours in it. It has a high resale value, so you can always put it on craigslist.|||I have an Ergo and have never had any back pain with it. I've never used a Bjorn so I can't compare, but I do love it.

You had no business getting this kitten and pretty sure this immature act is going to prevent your mother from EVER getting you a pet. Nice job.|||Hi, please dont lock up your kitten. It is gang rape. Tom cats often cause bite wounds which infect and need $$$$ treatment at the vets. Cats need everything we do. Good food, medical care if they are sick.. etc.. all cost money. Can you use a cat carrier to bring a rabbit to the vet?

I already have cat carrier and I'm planning on getting a rabbit this summer, but I really want to plan well ahead for it. Good luck with the new rabbit you get we all enjoy and love ours.|||Sounds great that you are planning, Yes I take rabbits to shows in carriers all the time. cat and dog carriers work great , I have big rabbits and a small dog carrier works. Depending on the size of rabbit your getting, just adjust accordingly. Good thinking|||Sure that is a really good idea. Cat carriers and dog carriers both work awesomely. What is a good baby carrier for an older baby?

My daughter is 8 months old and she is a skinny little thing, she is almost 17 pounds. I have a Maya Tie baby carrier and I hate it. I need something that doesnt tie up, or wrap around and isn't difficult to put on.. But something good!!! Also something in a reasonable price range!|||I love my Ergo carrier. http://www.shoppergems.com/goto/ergo

It's very easy to put on (though granted it's easier to put on in the front carry than the back carry - but that's true for all carriers). First, I put it on around my waist; it just snaps into place. Then I hold my daughter in front (or have her get on my back - either with someone else's help, or I'll have her stand on the bed and climb up on my back) then put my arms through the straps. Last, I snap a second buckle, which is very easy for both front and back carry. If I'm carrying my daughter on my back, the second snap is in front; if we're going a front carry, the snap is easier than fastening a bra. For the front carry, I can get my daughter in within 30 seconds, no sweat.

I find it very comfortable to use; the waist and arm straps are wide and padded. My daughter also likes it and feels comfortable. She's 5 now, and we actually still use it on certain occasions (she's a peanut - at 35 pounds it's still very easy to carry her).

There is an attached hood that I never used, so I just cut it off.

I would say that the Ergo and the Mei Tai are the best carriers you can buy - but they are different. You tried the best wrap. It sounds like a soft structured carrier will be easier for you since it just buckles right into place, and the Ergo is by far the best. It comes in different colors (my link above is for the color I have) and the price is similar t the Mei Tai.|||Mei tais and moby wraps are about the cheapest of the decent carriers- if you want something without ties or wraps you'll need to fork over the money for an ergo.|||GRACO|||I like my Ergo.

I'd recommend the 1.6 petrol as the 2.0 diesels occasionally throw fuel pumps out (拢1,000 a time to sort out) and the 1.9 diesels have a habit of going through sensors.

The 1.6 is the best of the bunch and pretty good on fuel.

For 拢2000 you could get a decent-ish Galaxy, but a) get a diesel and deefinately do NOT get a 2.3 or 2.8 petrol) and b) check it over thoroughly first. The Galaxy/Alhembra/Sharan range have very brittle interior plastics and by the time they've had three or four owners (and probably had 50 kids running roit in them) they get very old/dated inside.

How to unlock the Ipad to use it with any 3g carrier from any country?

So i want to buy an Ipad 3g, but i'm buying it from Japan and i heard that it is locked to be used with SoftBank carrier only. So basically if i buy it and bring it to Cambodia, i will not be able to use my Ipad with a Cambodian 3g carrier.

any idea on how to unlock the Ipad and make it usable with any carrier from any country?|||In the apple keynote, when the iPad was first introduced, steve jobs said that all iPads were unlocked. I do believd that that applied to the whole world not just the U.S. So it should work in Cambodia and you won't need to unlock it.
