I am looking for a dog carrier for my standard size Dachshund. He is 28 inches long and weighs 17.5-18 pounds. I was just wondering if anyone has ever traveled with their Dachshund on a plane before and stored him under the seat infront of you? Which carrier would be best for him? I have been looking but I am scared he wont be comfortable. Any information would be great!|||Sherpa Bag brand in the best one around. Get the name brand and not a knock off.|||I have also the same problem before and i stumbled upon a great pet carrier called Teafco Argo Airline Approved Aero-Pet Carrier. This is very light weight and can easily fit under the sit of a plane. It also have a 6-dual mesh windows on all sides for ventilation and security for our pets.|||You MUST ask the airline what dimensions the carrier needs to be. Different plane designs have different measurements for the underseat space. I suspect your dog is too large to travel in the passenger cabin. The airline may have weight/measurement restrictions on the pet, too.|||The regulations may have changed since I last flew with a dog. Look up one of the following, or more, to compare prices:
Jeffers pet Supply www.jefferspet.com
KV Pet Supply www.kvpet.com
Pet Edge www.petedge.com
Ryans Pet Supply www.ryanspet.com
Call and ask which is best for your dog. All of these places have toll free numbers. You can also browse online, email them, or request catalogs.
